Liverpool 'keeper Reina eager to secure 3 points against aston Villa after last week's Europa fumble

Liverpool goalkeeper Jose "Pepe" Reina insists he will be fully focused on securing three points when Aston Villa visit Anfield today.

The Spain international was at fault for Steaua Bucharest's equaliser in their Europa League draw on Thursday, allowing Eder Bonfim's header to squirm from his grasp.

Winning ways
He will be urging his teammates to secure a return to winning ways after last weekend's defeat to Tottenham having taken the lead and dominated the first half.

But assuming the captaincy is not something which is planed to bask in. "Win on Monday, that is the main target," he said.

"It is tight in the league and anyone can beat anyone else and that makes the competition even tougher.
"It is an honour to wear the captain's armband but we have too many captains on this team."

When quizzed about his future and the continued speculation about it, the 28-year-old added: "Well if you keep asking, I am going to ignore it.

"I said it many timesu00a0-- I have a contract with Liverpool, that's all."u00a0There had been speculation about one of Reina's compatriots Dani Pacheco after he fell out of favour with manager Roy Hodgson over the last few months.

However, the teenager started in Romania and on his return he underlined his commitment to the club by signing a two-year contract extension to take him up to 2014.

Martin Kelly, an academy graduate who now has 15 first-team appearances to his name, has agreed a three-year extension.

It shows the club's desire to hang on to their brightest prospects , with owners New England Sports Ventures
keen to invest in youth for a better long-term development plan.
