KSA's Srideep Mangela scores century in Kanga League

For Srideep Mangela, festivities had started a day ahead of the Dussehra. His 110 for Karnatak SA against New Hind SC in the Strategen Dr HD Kanga League not only gave him immense pleasure but also took the burden off him.

"I am scoring a century after two years and it a huge thing for me. I had not lost my touch but runs were not coming. The pressure was building up to perform. Many people told me to concentrate on my basics.

Thankfully, everything clicked for me," the southpaw told MiD DAY after the 'A' division match ended in a draw at Dadkar Maidan, Matunga.

Mangela was well supported by Sachin Wagh, who made 64, to help Karnatak reach 230-6 declared. New Hind, in reply, thanks to some lusty blows from Prashant Naik (81 off 40), reached 194-7 at close of play.
