The Kochi consortium sent a letter to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) yesterday to sought some more time before it can register under the Companies Act.
Six in the evening was set as the deadline for the group of investors to get their act together and speak to the BCCI in unison.
However, that was not to be.
"The president and our legal team will study it before taking a decision," BCCI CAO Ratnakar Shetty said, adding that BCCI, at present, has not thought about calling a meeting of the IPL Governing Council. The GC was originally scheduled to meet today to discuss the letter issued by Kochi.
"Yes (we have asked for more time). We are in an advanced stage of negotiations and need time to fix up technicalities," said the franchise's CEO Satyajit Gaekwad.
The crux of the dispute is who will run the affairs of the franchise.
