Reports of Sharad Pawar's involvement in an IPL team bid has made the entire cricket world sit up and take notice. After all, he will be the head of the International Cricket Council at the end of this month.

There were mixed reactions from various cricket boards. Sri Lanka Cricket came out strongly in support of Pawar while most other adopted a wait and watch policy. "We support Sharad Pawar hundred per cent," said D S de Silva, the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) board interim committee chairman.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president, Mustafa Kamal said: "The ICC board members have to submit affidavits and signed documents that no member would involve in any commercial activities. I shall now need to consult my board members before deciding to support or oppose Pawar."

Peter Young, the General Manager (Public Affairs), Cricket Australia and ECB chief Giles Clarke refused to comment on the issue.
