Majola said he was unaware of any claim of match-fixing in last year's Indian Premier League except for what was reported in the Indian media.
While investigators in India are still finalising their plans for the probe into the IPL in the wake of Lalit Modi's suspension, Majola told 'The Star' here that he did not feel the hurriedly-convened tournament would be looked into at all. Majola said outside of hosting the IPL, "We were just spectators." Majola believed that the documents in CSA's possession would withstand any investigation by Indian authorities.
"The only documentation we have is the agreement I signed on behalf of CSA with (BCCI Secretary) Srinivasan to host the tournament. I never signed anything with Lalit (Modi)," Majola said.
The second IPL was shifted to South Africa after the Indian government refused to provide adequate security to the tournament in India as the event's schedule clashed with the general election.
Controversy around the IPL contract arose between the provincial Gauteng Cricket Board and its mother body CSA last year which almost led to the suspension of international games from the famed Wanderers Stadium.
Only intervention from the Sports Minister saved the day.
