Officials of the Pakistan cricket Board said that the three-member committee headed by former Test captain Wasim Bari had summoned Asif for the final hearing today before it submits its recommendations to the board.
Asif, who is already serving a one-year ban for failing a dope test in the Indian Premier League, spent 19-days in detention in Dubai last year while returning from India.
Dubai authorities detained him after finding a small quantity of opium on him but later released him without filing any criminal charges against him.
A PCB official made it clear that although Asif was already serving a ban from the IPL drugs inquiry tribunal until September this year but if the inquiry committee also recommended any action against the pacer for his Dubai episode the board would enforce the recommendations.
"Everything depends on what the inquiry committee recommends. The board will not make any compromises on discipline," the official said.
