Karachi: Pakistan chief selector Haroon Rasheed has heaped praise over disgraced Mohammad Amir, describing him as an 'extraordinary' player, after the fast-bowler received clearance from the PCB over his selection in the national squad for the forthcoming tour against New Zealand.
Earlier, Rasheed had said that they were mulling to include the 23-year-old in the squad after receiving a green signal from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Lavishing praise on Amir, Rasheed insisted that it was the former's all-rounder quality that made him better than anyone else.
"But about Amir, it's not just his bowling but his all-round ability. He is good fielder and can bat with surety. Had he kept on playing in last five years he could have been developed into an established all-rounder. We have good bowlers but they are not known for their batting. I don't want to point to anyone, but we need our players to cover all the three dimensions of the game," Rasheed was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
Rasheed said that they had seen Amir performing well at domestic level, adding that they were now looking forward to his contribute at the international level.
Earlier, Amir was included in the 26-member national fitness camp in Lahore, whose return in the camp saw divided opinions coming out from the national team.
Amir displayed impressive form in domestic matches as well as in the Bangladesh Premier League ( BPL) after ending his five-year ban for spot-fixing three months ago.
Considered as one of the most promising talents, Amir had taken 51 wickets in 14 Tests and 25 in 15 one-day internationals before he was handed a five-year ban for bowling deliberate no-balls by pre-arrangement during the fourth test against England at Lord's in 2010.
