Scores 70 off 48 balls to guide Mumbai Indians to third victory in the tournament
The Master Blaster was at play once again guiding Mumbai Indians to a seven-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders at Brabourne Stadium on Monday.
Chasing 156 to win, Tendulkar scored 71 runs off 48 (which included 10 boundaries) balls for Mumbai Indian's third victory in the Indian Premier League.
Tendulkar and Shikhar Dhawan were off to a flying start, before Dhawan fell for 23 when the MI score was 61.
The Mumbai Indian skipper was joined by in-form Saurabh Tiwary (30 off 24 balls).
Knight Riders bowled a couple of good overs in the middle, but then lost the plot.
Earlier Knight Riders won the toss and elected to bat first. Chris Gayle notched up a stroke-filled 75 in his first Indian Premier League appearance this year to power Kolkata Knight Riders to a competitive 155 for three.
After missing the previous tie against Rajasthan Royals in Ahmedabad due to flu, the West Indies skipper slipped into the groove smoothly during his 60-ball knock, that included two sixes and seven fours, besides forging two fruitful half century partnerships.
The left-handed Gayle, who missed KKR's first two ties because of his international commitments, gave the Knight Riders a flying start of 70 runs with skipper Sourav Ganguly, who made 31 in 34 balls.
