"It makes you more determined when an opposition player sledges you. When I went in to bat today, Symonds exchanged a few words and and it made me more determined to score runs," said Yusuf, who was man of the match thanks to his 73 off 34 balls while chasing Deccan's modest score of 148.
The eight-wicket win was Rajasthan's third victory on the trot in the tournament which did not start well for them. They were beaten by Mumbai Indians first up albeit in a close game.
The Royals are now third on the points table after Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Their next match is against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday.
