Despite the glittering Commonwealth Games opening ceremony taking place just 238 kilometers away, the Indian team was anu00a0unhappy bunch yesterday.

Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni's unfortunate dismissals have left the side in a tight spot. The feeling around PCA Stadium was that of disappointment especially with Tendulkar being given out lbw on 98 off Marcus North.

"A third umpire from any other country wouldn't have given Dhoni out. We watched the reply many times, but it didn't clear the confusion. Umpires must give batsmen the benefit of doubt," a senior Indian cricketer said.

Tendulkar looked set to bring up his 49th Test ton when disaster struck an hour before stumps. There was pin drop silence in the stands as he walked back for 98.

MiD DAY has learnt that after getting out, Tendulkar asked non-striker, Suresh Raina, if the ball had pitched in line.

Later, while leaving for the hotel, Tendulkar told MiD DAY: "The ball spun a lot more than I expected. It wasn't very clear to me when I watched the TV replays later. Hawkeye also was not very clear."
