Arvind's book titled FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa is a know-all of the 19th edition of the biggest footballing event held once in four years. The book contains previews and match copies of all games played from June 11 to July 11 last year.
Believe it or not, Arvind developed a love for the game while playing it virtually. "Playing on the computer I got interested in football. I started playing football. It became a passion," said Arvind, who has represented his school, Swami Vivekanand in Mumbai Schools Sports Association organised tournaments. Arvind, a college student, was coaxed to write the book by his mother.
"I watch as many football games I can on TV. I also write a lot about the game in my spare time. My mom took note of this and encouraged me to write the book," said the England and Chelsea fan.
Arvind's father PV Vaidyanathan, a practising paediatrician, is not surprised by his son's feat. "He used to post articles about football matches on Facebook. His articles would generate a lot of interest and lead to a lot of interaction," he said.u00a0
"He wants to become a doctor. He is interested in medicine, but football is his biggest passion. I hope he keeps writing."
Arvind's mother Rama, an audiologist and voice trainer, was bursting with pride and joy. "It's a great achievement to get published at his age. He has brought us great joy and pride.
