England hero Dawid Malan feared that he would never get the chance to grace the international arena. Malan produced a match-winning performance in the T20 Series decider against South Africa on Sunday - his 78 from 44 balls making him England's highest-ever scorer on T20 debut.
"I didn't think this day would come," Malan said. "I actually had a chat about two-and-a-half months ago with Adam Voges after the North vs South games which I contributed really well to. He gave me a few tips as he was in the same position with regards to Test cricket in Australia.
He was a late bloomer so he told me what he did. Fortunately I was given another chance and I took it," he added.
