Former India skipper and Mumbai stalwart Ajit Wadekar supported the five-year ban imposed by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) on Shah Rukh Khan from entering the Wankhede Stadium yesterday.

The association’s managing committee made the decision yesterday after the Bollywood superstar allegedly abused MCA and BCCI officials after KKR’s 32-run win over Mumbai Indians at the Churchgate venue on Wednesday.

“I think it is a good decision taken by the MCA. One should not allow any sort of misbehaviour on the ground. Mumbai’s cricket has several ethics and the Wankhede Stadium has produced many Test cricketers for India. MCA has set the right precedent,” felt Wadekar.

However, former Mumbai skipper Shishir Hattangadi said it was a hasty decision. “I feel they (MCA) could have waited for a dialogue. There should have been more maturity in handling this situation,” he said.

Sad decision by MCA: Lalit Modi
uSad decision by MCA. If I were bcci/IPL, I would move all matches to DY Patil Stadium or cci. We have had high-handed mca before. MCA has always gone out of their way to make things difficult for ipl matches — Lalit Modi on Twitteru00a0
