The Asia Cup 2025 final stage is set to witness the high-voltage clash between arch-rivals, India and Pakistan. The match is scheduled to be played at the Dubai International Stadium on 28 September.
Ahead of the title clash, former Team India cricketer, Sarandeep Singh, has backed the "Men in Blue" to come out victorious against Pakistan.
"The way the Indian team is playing is phenomenal cricket, especially the batters we talked about — the new youngsters," he said.
The former cricketer was also impressed by the batting display of Team India’s swashbuckling opening batsman, Abhishek Sharma.
"The new superstar in our team is Abhishek Sharma... The way he’s batting and hammering the fast bowlers and spinners of Pakistan is amazing," said Singh.
During the clash, Team India’s dugout will heavily rely on the left-handed batsman to provide them with a dominating start, which he has been doing in all of the previous matches. Also, skipper Suryakumar Yadav has been struggling to score runs with his willow. The team will expect the skipper to bring his ‘A-game’ in the title clash against the "Green Shirts".
He also said that it will be easy for the Suryakumar Yadav-led team to secure a win, considering that bowlers such as Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya are performing well.
"The team is also doing really well. We have fast bowlers like Bumrah (Jasprit) and Hardik (Pandya) performing strongly. Things will be easier for India to win the game," he concluded.
