If Singh manages to make the cut in the Indian team for the Asia Cup 2025, the management may give it a thought to include him for next year's World Cup. In recent times, his career graph has seen a decline, as he also failed to make it to the Indian squad for the previous T20 World Cup and was on standby

The Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2025 tournament will be announced on August 18. The inclusion of a few players could pose a huge challenge for chief selector Ajit Agarkar and his management.

While Indian Test skipper Shubman Gill's place and designation in the squad remain a hot talking point, the position of Rinku Singh in the 15-member squad is also under scrutiny.

Rinku came into the limelight during an IPL match, in which he smashed five consecutive sixes in Yash Dayal's over to help his team, Kolkata Knight Riders, secure a victory.

In recent times, however, his career graph has seen a decline, as he also failed to make it to the Indian squad for the previous T20 World Cup and was on standby.

Considering his performances, one can say that his spot in the Indian team is certain ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026. The mega event will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

If Rinku Singh manages to make the cut in the Indian team for the Asia Cup 2025, the team management may give it a thought to include him for the next year's global showpiece.

Now with Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal — two players with proven IPL records — are back in the mix, the selectors will have to make some compromise with regards to one or two slots.

The logic could be that even if Rinku is compromised, there would still be a Shivam Dube (as Nitish Reddy is unlikely to get fit) and Jitesh Sharma (second keeper), who could well play the finisher's role.

Also, along with batting, both players have the ability to play roles in other departments. Shivam can bowl a spell of two or three, if and whenever required, whereas Jitesh can don the 'Big Gloves' and has been an exceptional performer behind the stumps.

The Asia Cup 2025 is set to kick off on September 9. The "Men in Blue" will begin their campaign against the UAE on September 10 at the Dubai International Stadium. The mega clash between arch-rivals, India and Pakistan, is scheduled to be played on September 14 at the same venue.
