In the second Test match against the West Indies, Team India has posted a total of 94 runs at the stroke of lunch on Day 1 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan are unbeaten in the middle on the scores of 40 and 16 runs, respectively. Facing 78 balls, Jaiswal has smashed seven boundaries so far, whereas Sudharsan has faced 36 deliveries and registered three boundaries to his name.

Earlier, India lost the wicket of opening batsman KL Rahul on the score of 38 runs. His knock came in 54 balls, including five boundaries and a maximum.

West Indies' Jomel Warrican has claimed one wicket so far in the match. He bowled six overs and conceded 21 runs.

Currently, the hosts are leading the two-match series by 1-0, following the triumph by an innings and 140 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The visitors will look to secure a win in the ongoing match in order to draw the series. On the other hand, the Shubman Gill-led side will look to secure a series sweep and help their captain register his first Test series win since taking over the leadership duties.

Before the start of the second Test match, former Team India assistant coach Abhishek Nayar said that Jaiswal will emerge as the highest run-scorer in New Delhi. Considering that he was not able to convert his knock into a big one in the previous match, the left-hander will be hungry to score runs.

Nayae also said that the match will be crucial for Sai Sudharsan, as his place in the team will be under scrutiny once Rishabh Pant returns to the side. In the first Test match, Sai was dismissed on just seven runs.
