Sunrisers Hyderabad registered a dominating victory by 110 runs in the IPL 2025 match against Kolkata Knight Riders. During the match, SRH's Heinrich Klaasen struck an unbeaten knock of 105 runs off just 39 balls, including seven boundaries and nine maximums.
"As I said earlier, the franchise have invested a lot of money, they have been here for 12-13 years. We played brilliant cricket for the last three games, they gave us an incredible holiday and thanks to them," said Klassen during the post-match presentation.
Speaking about his stunning knock, the South African said, "It's pride for us as well, got a lot of starts did not kick on, today I did. That's normally the plan on this wicket, the straight boundaries are short and the other boundaries are 50 or 60 metres. I look to play straight and did not take on too many fielders, and I'm pleased for that".
The 33-year-old also won the 'Player of the Match' award for his stellar knock in the IPL 2025 match against KKR.
Shouldering him was explosive batsman, Travis Head, who played a knock of 76 runs. In just 40 deliveries, the left-hander registered six boundaries and the same number of maximums. The side registered a total of 278 runs for the loss of three wickets.
This is the third-highest total by any team in IPL history.
KKR endured a forgettable outing on Sunday as they failed to chase down a mammoth target of 279 set by Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, crashing to a 110-run defeat.
Sunrisers Hyderabad's bowling attack was led by a trio of effective performers, Jaydev Unadkat, Eshan Malinga, and Harsh Dubey, all of whom picked up three wickets each to dismantle KKR's batting line-up.
This also marked Sunrisers Hyderabad's end of their IPL 205 campaign. They finished the tournament in sixth position with six victories and seven losses. Having completed 14 matches, the Pat Cummins-led side had a net run rate (NRR) of -0.241 and 13 points.
On the other hand, KKR's campaign, too, came to an end with five wins and seven defeats in 14 matches. With a net run rate (NRR) of -0.305, the side has 12 points.
