Mumbai, the 42-time Ranji Trophy champions, will once again begin as favourites to win the title when they open up their campaign against Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
However, defending champions and recent Irani Cup winners, Vidarbha, will once again look to defy the odds when they kick-off their season against minnows Nagaland.
