Shakib al Hasan’s unbeaten 96 saw Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by three wickets on Sunday for a 2-0 lead in the three-ODI series. Zimbabwe made 240-9 off 50 overs, which included a strange dismissal of captain Brendan Taylor. Bangladesh reached 242-7 in 49.1 overs.
Taylor was deemed out hit wicket for 46 by TV umpire, Langton Rusere. The skipper attempted an upper cut to left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam, but failed to connect. He then swished his bat backwards in a ‘shadow’ shot and dislodged the bail triggering an appeal though the ball seemed to be dead. Rusere ruled him out.
