Team India emerged victorious in the final of the T20 World Cup 2026. They defeated New Zealand by 96 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Following the victory, legendary West Indies cricketer Sir Vivian Richards said that the "Men in Blue" have taken the game to a different level. He also added that the triumph is a great present to the Indian cricket fans, considering the love and passion they show for the sport.
"India have taken the game, in my opinion, to a different level, more so in the limited overs, i.e. the ODIs, the T20s. It is a great present for the fans because of the love and the passion that they show for the game in itself. I just think the result would have been the right result because of that love and passion and the country that it is played in," he said.
