Madrid: Ex-Man Utd star Cristiano Ronaldo has come to the defence of under-fire manager Louis van Gaal.

The Real Madrid ace said that LVG can make Man Utd champions again provided he's given time to succeed just like Sir Alex Ferguson.
"Sometimes coaches need time to change the team to what they want," said Ronaldo, who scored in Real's 3-1 win over Barcelona on Saturday.
"Sir Alex recently said Louis van Gaal will need time and he's right.
In the beginning even Sir Alex didn't win for a few years while he got the team he wanted."
