Saul Niguez fires Atletico Madrid to 1-0 win vs PSV Eindhoven

Eindhoven: Atletico Madrid started their Champions League campaign with a 1-0 win against PSV Eindhoven here on Tuesday, with Saul Niguez scoring the winner.

Niguez, who also scored in last year’s semi-final victory over Bayern Munich, converted a rebound with a volley after PSV defender Joshua Brenet blocked his first effort following Gabi's corner in the 43rd minute. At the stroke of the half time, Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak denied Andres Guardado’s penalty as the Spanish giants held on to the slim win, reports Xinhua.
