Chelsea beat Burnley 2-0 to move second in Premier League as title chase intensifies

Chelsea strengthened their Premier League title push with a 2-0 win at Burnley. Pedro Neto opened the scoring before Enzo Fernandez sealed the victory late on, lifting Enzo Maresca’s side to second place, just three points behind Arsenal. The Blues have now won eight of their last 10 matches.

Chelsea stepped up their English Premier League title challenge with a gritty 2-0 win over struggling Burnley on Saturday. Pedro Neto put the Blues ahead in the 37th minute and Enzo Fernandez netted in the closing stages (88th min) to help Enzo Maresca’s side climb to second place, three points behind leaders Arsenal. 

The Blues have now won eight of their last 10 matches across all competitions. “Burnley away is always a hard game. But the way we competed I’m very happy. It was very important to keep the momentum from before the international break,” said Maresca. It was the ideal warm-up for Chelsea ahead of a crucial fixtures against Barcelona in the UCL  and Arsenal.
