Go for an art and health exhibit
Mumbai Mobile Creche (MMC) is holding its first ever health exhibition to draw attention to the vulnerability and health issues migrant construction workers and their children go through. It will showcase a variety of health seminars as well as 3D installation works which will address topics like sanitation, community participation, hand washing, nutrition, immunisation and pregancy. There will also be board games and cultural performances around the theme of health. MMC has been functional since 1969 and for over 40 years they have been providing creche facilities to the children of construction workers.

Listen to some dark music
Experience a medley of sounds, voices, tones and music in room sunk in pitch darkness and Swiss musicians Sandro Schneebeli and Max Pizio take listeners through a sensory experience of sounds and touch, but not vision. In fact, the audience will be assisted to their seats by visually challenged people. The concert includes several string, wind and percussion instruments and one can see nothing, not even the musicians, except for the last 10 minutes of the concert. The concert has been organised by the Consulate General of Switzerland in Mumbai. The experience is designed in such a way that it opens up people emotionally, so that they feel the music in the truest sense of the term.

Decode mythology on canvas

On display will be 28 paintings that bring out the essence of the mythological stories we have grown up on. Of special interest is the Amruta Manthana series that tells the story of the churning of the milky ocean by Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva’s role in it. This one promises a fine way to recall the mythological riches of India.
