For many, social media is all too much. The drama, the validation, and the fights — it sounds like a typical day on Twitter, now X. But as we found out, there are X handles which are a steady source of good information, useful insights, and even emotional support. You just have to look for them. Get going and curate your timeline.

This and that

Did you know that the cover of the book Jaws was deemed obscene and banned in some places? Or why there are “dimples” in some chef’s knives? Mental Floss curates an eclectic range of facts and trivia that would come handy at your next pub quiz. The “Amazing Fact Generator” will give you nuggets of info that you didn’t know you wanted to know. Mental Floss describes itself as “Home for ... untold stories from history, science, pop culture, and beyond.” We like.

Intuitive insights

We stumbled upon Karun Pal, who displays an understanding of the inner workings of neurodivergent minds that resonates hard. For example: “Loneliness does not come from having no people around you, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to you.” His posts about introverts had responses like: “I don’t know how you know this but this is me!”
Follow for nuggets of wisdom, new perspectives, and advice that feels like a helping hand rather than a sermon.

If you are interested in advertising, marketing, or just modern communication, Karthik Srinivasan has the goods. The communications strategy consultant posts  takes on ad campaigns, hit-or-miss  marketing, and sometimes plain bizarre campaigns that make you think — is your communication on the mark?

This is not an Indian handle, but the daily posts of photographs featuring gorgeous flowers in their natural habitat (ie, not in a vase or a bouquet) invariably cheer us up. Be it a rose in full flush, or a field of wildflowers that call out to be saved as your phone’s wallpaper, this handle makes online life a little less bleak.
