If you have strong reasons for wanting to elope, they are presumably based upon the fact that your parents aren’t being supportive enough

What should I do to celebrate a 1-year anniversary with a woman I am madly in love with? I want to make sure she remembers it and has no doubts about our relationship because I hope to be able to marry her. I don’t want to do the usual things like an expensive dinner or fancy gift because I’m sure she has had those experiences before. I can’t do a holiday abroad because her parents won’t let her go away with me just yet. I love her a lot and want to make this special but can’t think of anything that will blow her mind and convince her that I am the man she should be with. Do you have any suggestions?
Suggestions should be based on someone’s personality because that should give you all the information you need about what she likes and what is most likely to impress her. Yes, expensive dates may not seem special enough, but sometimes it is the simpler things that make a more distinct impression. Letting someone into your life emotionally or investing a bit of yourself to gift something made by you can often seem more meaningful. If you want to convince this person that you are the one for her, the best way to do it is by using your actions to back your words. Be present, be supportive, and make choices that allow her to feel like a priority in your life. Everything else is just bells and whistles after a point.

My boyfriend and I want to elope, but I worry about this because I know my parents will never forgive me if they can’t attend my wedding. What should I do?
If you have strong reasons for wanting to elope, they are presumably based upon the fact that your parents aren’t being supportive enough. If they want to attend your wedding, they have to play their part too. You can’t have it both ways so why not try and acknowledge what is or isn’t possible first?
