I am afraid that they won’t see this from my perspective and may start to dislike her

I have been engaged to a girl for almost a year now, and we keep putting off the wedding date because she can’t seem to take time off from her career. I have been very supportive of her from the start and am more than willing to wait for as long as it takes because I know she has a few goals and wants to meet some of them before she settles down. At the same time, it is becoming harder for me to explain her actions to my family because they have been waiting for this marriage to take place for a long time. I am afraid that they won’t see this from my perspective and may start to dislike her. What should I do?
You can start by telling them why you choose to support your fiancé and what the delays are meant to accomplish. They may want you to marry quickly but need to acknowledge that it is eventually the two of you who will have to spend the rest of your lives together. If you are okay with waiting, and this ultimately leads to something positive for her, they shouldn’t have a problem. Speak to them about this often, and reinforce it whenever you can, because it can prevent any unnecessary misunderstandings.
My girlfriend’s siblings have been bullying me for a long time now, but she doesn’t do or say anything to stop them because she thinks I should be able to deal with it myself. Is this fair?
It’s not, because they are being disrespectful to her by being rude to the person she is in a relationship with. She may look at your ability to handle this as a misplaced sign of maturity, but that doesn’t mean you should when she can easily call them out on their behaviour. Tell her why this isn’t okay and inform her siblings why they are insulting her by doing what they do. Bullying is never acceptable, irrespective of how old or young you may be.
