Should I stay despite the risks?

I am a 29-year-old woman in a relationship with a guy who is around six years older. He is not an ideal partner, and I am aware of that, but he offers me the kind of security that a person my age cannot. My friends don’t support this because they think he is somewhat dismissive towards me, but they don’t see this from my perspective. I love him a lot and accept his flaws, which is why I am sure I can manage this relationship and see a future with him. My only concern is doing this alone because I am sure no one will help if I ask for support going forward. They will all tell me that they warned me, and I will have to accept that. Should I stay with him despite knowing all these risks?
You are an adult and are claiming to walk into this with your eyes open. If you know what it involves, are aware that your partner may not be able to give you everything you need but are still accepting it because it works for you, nothing can stop you from sticking to this plan. As for doing it alone, while your friends may choose to turn away, it is important to keep in mind that genuine friendship isn’t about one upmanship. It is about unconditional support. If the people in your life don’t offer this, you should question their presence and consider making new friends.

How do I know if a relationship is genuine based on what we do online? I met this girl on an app, we chat often, and she says we are together, but it sometimes doesn’t feel real.
Get off the Internet, meet in person as often as you can, and ask questions about how you feel. If you have doubts about something, you should be able to resolve them face to face, because maintaining any relationship online comes with its risks.
