In two separate accidents last night, two men lost their lives while crossing the railway tracks. Sanjay Rambao Salunke (42) was crossing the Dapodi railway line around 11 pm and was unable to see the speeding train that resulted in his death.

He stayed near Dapodi railway station and was working with a laundry shop. He is survived by three children.
"We were standing close to the station and saw him crossing the track when a train crossed by. We suspect he had failed to see the train," said Anil Bhise, an onlooker and Salunke's neighbour. "We rushed him to Sassoon where he was declared dead."

Salunke's body was taken for postmortem around 12 am. "He was in a terrible condition. The family members will be able to take the body only after the procedures are completed," said N N Rokde from Khadki Railway Police.

In another accident, Sagun Sopan Kale (45), a resident of Solapur, lost his life while crossing the railway tracks a few meters away from the Kasarwadi railway station late in the evening. He was hit by a speeding train and died on the spot.

Kale's body was sent to Yashwantrao hospital by the Pimpri Railway Police around 10 pm. His licence was found by the police that gave his personal details.
