Former India captain Bishan Singh Bedi's son Angad is all set to be the new face of Extraaa Innings in the 2010 Indian Premier League.

"I am delighted with the assignment and really looking forward to my new role," the 26-year-old Angad told MiD DAY. Angad, who spends a lot of his time on the ramp, has been part of the reality show Emotional Atyachaar. He has also anchored a cookery show called Cook Na Kaho so he is no stranger to the television audience.u00a0

His IPL role will involve interviewing players and offering his expert views on MAX. Having played junior cricket for Delhi, he knows his cricket.

Father Bishan is no fan of T20 cricket so one can't rule out some serious cricketing arguments back home in Delhi. "Look, my father is a purist. He is not totally against T20, but he has a problem when mediocrity creeps in. I can understand that. T20 is an exciting form of the game and has to be accepted," said Angad in response to a question about Bedi Sr's dislike for the shortest form of the game. Angad said he was spending a good amount of time surfing the internet to be well prepared for his new innings. Or should that read Extraaa Innings?
