Notwithstanding the reviews, 'Humshakals' has done well so far
Sajid Khan’s Humshakals has grossed Rs 39 crore in the first weekend of its release. Exhibitor Rajesh Thadani says that the coming week will be an acid test for the film. He says, “Despite bad reports and discouraging reviews, the film has fared well at the box office.
Firstly, it’s a comedy and this genre has usually clicked with the audience. Also, after a long time a multi-starrer has released, so there has been a lot of curiosity surrounding the film. In the next two days, we should know where the film is heading.”
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh says, “Though it fetched unfavourable reviews, the film has managed to draw in audiences and this is why it has clocked in good numbers.”
Vishal Anand of Fun Cinemas says that this month, Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty has got the best collections so far. “It has done remarkably well; in fact, it’s the second film, after 2 States, to cross the Rs 100 crore mark this year.”
