The alacrity shown in the BCCI probe has only given rise to more questions.

Champions League T20 behind probe's alacrity?

According to a source, the BCCI was keen to clear the team owners and teams before the Champions League T20 which begins in September.

“The Board wanted both teams to come out clean before they participated in the Champions League. That is why the inquiry was carried out so swiftly,” the source said.

Rajasthan Royals (third-place finish in IPL-VI) and Chennai Super Kings (runners-up) have qualified for the global club T20 competition. Both teams are under the scanner after Gurunath Meiyappan (former CSK Team Principal) and Raj Kundra (RR’s co-owner) reportedly confessed to betting during the IPL.
