New Delhi: The press box at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium was today found in an unbelievable mess with dead rats and feathers of dead pigeons laying around, just 18 days after an ODI was held at the venue.

The media, which came to cover the Duleep Trophy final here today, to their horror found out that dead rats with blood stains, feathers of dead pigeons scattered around, giving it a horrible look. To add these was the stinking smell, rejected copper wires that lay all around making people look in disbelief that only on October 11, India played an ODI here, with media in full attendance.

The sight of the dead rat with blood stain on the table where scribes keep their work stations was simply terrible. After the conclusion of October 11 one-dayer between India and the West Indies, none of the DDCA officials bothered to check the condition of the media facility.

Even one of the commentators said that he was appalled to see that the stairway towards commentary box was "stinking like hell" and he had to tell one of the stadium staff to clean it up. When DDCA vice-president Chetan Chouhan was asked about it, he told PTI, "It's Mr Sneh Bansal's (DDCA president) department. He is in charge of giving stadium clean-up contracts. Heard that company has been changed."

DDCA media cell head Ravi Jain, who later supervised a clean-up job, said that "DDCA will take stern action against the company which got contract to do clean up job."
