Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who had to sit out of the Napier Test due to a back strain had no qualms in saying that yesterday's drawn result against New Zealand was, "as good as a win for India."

"It's a tremendous performance which denied New Zealand victory," said Dhoni, who is expected to be fit and lead the team in the third Test in Wellington, which starts on Friday.

"There was nothing in the wicket, yet it turned out to be such an interesting Test," he added.

While India last won a Test there in 1967-68, Wellington is known to be very windy, giving the bowlers an advantage. Dhoni's Indians have been told that there would be some grass cover at the Basin Reserve pitch, which would help the hosts in their quest to square the series.

The Indians will take the day off today. Some team members have decided to travel to the next destination by road a six-hour drive. Others will go via Auckland and some will stay back for a round of golf.
