Expressway bridge stunt proves fatal for 25-yr-old

A stunt that involved jumping from one bridge railing to another proved fatal for a 25-year-old man at the Amrutanjan Bridge on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway on Sunday evening.

The police said the deceased had come to Lonavla with some friends on Sunday.

The Khandala police said Harishkumar Kurapati, a resident of Khopoli, fell to his death from the Amrutanjan Bridge while returning home from the trip.


The police said Kurapati and his friends were returning home on their bikes but halted at the bridge on the Expressway as they wanted to see the sunset.

“After watching the sunset, Kurapati started walking down a railing of the Amrutanjan Bridge and in an attempt to jump from one raling to another, he lost his balance and fell down,” Senior Police Inspector Vishnu Pawar of the Khandala police station said.

Kurapati was rushed to a hospital in Lonavla, but doctors there declared him brought dead.u00a0
