A 51-year-old man and his son were arrested by the sleuths of Deccan-Gymkhana police station, after a case of cheating was registered against them. The incident came to light after a man from Ahmednagar alleged that the two had taken Rs five lakh from him and promised to get his son a government job.
The two even claimed that they had good contacts in Mantralaya.

“61-year-old Kisan Idhate of Ahmednagar registered a complaint with us that Malwade and his son had promised him that they had good contacts in Mantralaya and would help his son get a job after taking Rs 5 lakh, however after receiving the money, both the accused started avoiding him,” said police sub inpsector U S Yadav of the Deccan-Gymkhana police station.

Earlier last week, the Kothrud police had arrested Sanjay, who was on the run for about nine months and was wanted for allegedly duping one Dattatray Kulkarni of Satara to the tune of Rs 16 lakh by promising government jobs. Owing to the latest developments, the case has been transferred to Deccan police station.

Talking about an earlier case, the Kothrud police officials said that in October last year, when two victims, including a woman, had reached his Kothrud-based residence to get their money back, he along with his two sons allegedly forced them to sign a blank stamp paper at gun-point and even beat the male victim and locked the female victim inside his bedroom

The duo will be presented in the court tomorrow. u00a0
