Callum Ferguson has returned to the Australian ODI team in place of Shaun Marsh who was today ruled out for the remainder of the ongoing three-match series against Sri Lanka due to an injury.
Marsh suffered a lower back injury during his 31-run knock in the first ODI against Sri Lanka at the Melbourne Cricket Ground yesterday, which Australia lost by one-wicket.

"It's an unfortunate injury for Shaun, which will see him miss the remainder of the Commonwealth Bank Series against Sri Lanka.
However, it does create another opportunity for Callum Ferguson to come back into the Australian ODI team and press his claims," National Selection Panel chairman Andrew Hilditch said in a statement.
"Callum has been in extremely good form of late for South Australia in interstate cricket and has a very good ODI record for Australia, averaging 46 with the bat, so we know he can perform well on a big stage," he added.
For in-form Ferguson, who will join the Australian squad at Adelaide, it is a golden opportunity to press for a spot in the upcoming Ashes series. Ferguson was last seen in action for Australia against New Zealand in October last year.
