Chasing 182 for a win, the Daredevils were going great guns with Virender Sehwag (64) and Gambhir (47) adding 99 runs in 10-odd overs when Ganguly's direct throw ended Gambhir's stay and the home side went on to win the match.

"Gambhir's run-out was a turning point. He was batting really well, and a direct hit was wonderful. Ganguly did a terrific job," Whatmore said. It was a good outing for Ganguly who hit a 46-ball 56 and took a catch as well to win the Man of the Match award.
Overall, Whatmore was also happy with the team's fielding standard. "Fielding certainly mattered. It certainly helped in the victory. I thought our bowling was very good and fielding supported it well. It was great to see some good stops and run-outs. I am very happy with the fielding effort. It was an extremely important win for us," Whatmore said.
He also lavished praise on pacer Ashok Dinda, who was the pick of the KKR bowlers today, claiming two for 21.
"Ashok Dinda always had the physical presence which is a wonderful thing to have. It's very contagious. It's terrific to have a bowler who would run in and give every ounce of effort always. I am very pleased for him," he said. Dinda himself thanked bowling mentor and Pakistani great Wasim Akram for helping him master his craft.
"Akram taught me how to bowl a slow bouncer which I am able to use effectively now. He also has told me the line I should toe. He has also helped me out in swinging balls. I am always grateful to him," Dinda said.
Playing only in his third match this season, Dinda said there was no pressure on him to prove himself. "I always give my best when on the field. Maybe I did not fit into the team's scheme of things, so I was out in the last few matches. "But I always hoped to come back. I had faith in my abilities that whenever I will be picked, I will grab the opportunity in both hands. I was told by Dada (Ganguly) during the practice," he said, adding that his first over that yielded the wicket of David Warner was his best over in the IPL.
