Ghaziabad admin goes hi-tech; residents can file complaints on Facebook

District administration has decided to reach out to residents through its Facebook page. The DM office has invited residents to post their views, suggestions and complaints against any issue on the social networking site.

"If residents have complaints pertaining to water, electricity, deteriorating law and order and others, they can now tell district administration via its Facebook profile. I have directed officers to seriously attend complaints being posted on Facebook and solve residents' issues on first priority," District Magistrate SVS Ranga Rao said.

After getting complaints, district administration would forward them to the departments concerned. The district administration created its Facebook page on October 2, and since then it has been getting a warm response from people.

"So far, 290 people have liked our Facebook page. We hope that after appealing to post their views, suggestions and complaints, residents would now come forward in a huge number," Rao said.
