The chief of the police station in Bhondsi village of Gurgaon was Wednesday booked for murdering a retired police official in the lockup, a police official said.
Two civilians were also booked along with the police chief.
"The case against Bhondsi police station chief Arvind Kumar Dahiya, Bhagirath and Jitender has been registered under section 302 and other sections of the IPC," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (East-South) Maheshwar Dayal.

The action came after angry relatives of the deceased blocked the Gurgaon-Alwar state highway for several hours Wednesday. They demanded the arrest of those responsible for the death.
The deceased, Virpal Singh, a retired ASI from Rajasthan Police and a resident of Bhondsi village was involved in a land dispute with Bhagirath and Jitender from the same village.
Both the parties were fighting case in the court.
On Tuesday night, Bhondsi SHO Arvind Kumar Dahiya called both the parties to the police station and allegedly favoured one side. Virpal was beaten up, following which he fainted and was declared dead in the hospital.
