Former Pakistan batsman Javed Miandad during a TV interview yesterday accused ex-skipper Shahid Afridi of fixing matches.

Miandad told Pakistan’s Samaa TV that Afridi he had also caught Afridi fixing matches on many occasions.
“I have caught him cheating many times. He has thrown several matches. I caught him cheating the country.
'I dare Afridi to swear’'
“I dare Afridi to swear on his daughters and say that he didn’t sell Pakistan. If I had the power, he would not have played for Pakistan again. These people are fixers,” Miandad said during the TV interview which is all over the internet.
“He (Afridi) has no market value now. That’s why he is making such comments in media. He is doing treachery now. Ask his brother, I helped him play Test cricket. No one wanted him in the team. He is saying big things now, but he used to call me again and again, used to pass on messages through other people, to have my blessings,” Miandad added.
The incident took place after a reporter told Afridi during a press conference about Miandad’s comment where he said that “Afridi wanted a farewell game only for money”.
To this, the swashbuckling all-rounder said, “Money has always been an issue for Javed Miandad. It doesn’t suit a legendary cricketer like Miandad to pass such irresponsible comments.”
Afridi apologises
Afridi later apologised to Miandad on Twitter.
“I regret what I said to a senior but of course I had to eventually react to his behaviour,” the big-hitter wrote on his Twitter handle.
