Neymar laughed off the hard tackling he was subjected to by Honduras as Brazil ran out 5-0 winners in Miami on Saturday evening.
The Selecao claimed an impressive victory with Bernard, Dante, Maicon, Willian and Hulk all on the scoresheet as they continued their preparations for next year’s World Cup in front of a record crowd for football in Florida.
However, the Barcelona forward endured a bruising encounter after Honduras set about attempting to disrupt his influence on proceedings, prompting Neymar to post a picture of a cut on his leg after the match on his official Instagram account.
The photo was accompanied by the comment: “Beautiful victory! I got out alive.” The 21-year-old also added the hashtag “#UFC” to the message, suggesting a comparison between the Catrachos players and the mixed martial arts bouts of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Neymar dismissed close attention from South Korea defenders as “part of the game” after he was brought down 12 times in Brazil’s 2-0 win in Seoul in October.
The result was Brazil’s fifth straight win since a shock loss to Switzerland in August, a period in which Luiz Felipe Scolari’s men have scored 18 goals.
For Honduras, the result ended a four-match unbeaten run.
