International Pop sensation Justin Bieber is thrilled to perform in India and it seems he cannot wait for his concert to begin in the country.


The 23-year-old Grammy winning singer is geared up to unleash his magic at the Purpose World Tour in D Y Patil Stadium. Here are the updates from the venue.


The gates were open at 11 am and the fans started pouring in from all quarters of the country. There are fans dressed in black T-shirts with 'BELIEBER' written across them, and those flaunting tees with his photographs and even others with hoardings that read "We love you Bieber" and "Meri jaan" at the venue.

Here are the celebrities that attended the Justin Bieber concert. Fashion designer Kunal Rawal was spotted. Anu Malik with his daughter Anmol, actor Himansh Kohli, model-actor Rochelle Rao, choreographer Remo D'souza, Boney Kapoor with wife Sridevi and daughter Khushi were spotted at the concert. Arbaaz Khan, Malaika Arora with son Arhan, Alia Bhatt with Ayan Mukherji, Urvashi Rautela, Sonali Bendre, DJ Aqueel, Poonam Dhillon with daughter, Udita Goswami, Arjun Rampal with kids, Raveena Tandon with Raasha, Rhea Chakraborty, Pooja Hegde, Zoa Morani,  all attended the concert. "Harry Potter" actress Elarica Johnson hosted the highly-anticipated event. The opening acts for Bieber's gig include artistes such as DJ Sartek, DJ Zaeden and Norwegian DJ Alan Walker. The performances began at 4 pm with DJ Sartek opening the concert. 

At the venue, "Harry Potter" actress Elarica Johnson who is hosting the gig, arrived on stage and told the crowd: "I love your country and you wonderful people here! We are gonna give the warmest welcome to Justin Bieber." (Read more)

Officials confirm that Justin Bieber will take the stage at 8pm. DJ Alan Walker played his super hit 'Faded' as crowds eupt in jubiliation.

The crowd turned into a choir as pop sensation Justin Bieber kick-started his maiden India concert with his chart topping number "Mark My Words" from his latest album "Purpose".

Dressed casually in white t-shirt and black shorts, the 23-year-old Canadian singer made a stunning entry to the stage. The opening track was followed by "Where Are You Now". For the song the singer was joined by back up dancers with Beliebers continuing to pump up the evening.

The excitement at the DY Patil Stadium reached its peak as Bieber addressed the crowd saying, "What a beautiful night tonight. Honoured to be here. You guys are the coolest. Hope you're ready to have the best night."

His special message for the fans was followed by "I'll Show You", a track from the critically-acclaimed album. The fourth track on Bieber's list was "Feeling" followed by "Boyfriend". To perform the songs he walked across the stage and stood at the edge. He interacted with the fans as they got swayed away by his voice.

Prices hiked

To keep fans in high spirits throughout Justin Bieber's concert tonight, organisers have set up a separate zone where alcohol will be served, but at a hefty price. Those attending the concert can choose from liquor or beer, but will have to shell out as much as Rs 400-Rs 500 for just 30 ml. Those who prefer to keep their buzz non-alcoholic can opt for soft drinks or water. However, water was also overpriced as Rs 20 bottle was being charged at Rs 150. (Read more)

Before the concert...

Arrival in India

The singer, who was sporting a pink hoodie, rushed out of the airport, where a group of fans had gathered to welcome him, to a waiting car which took him to his hotel in Lower Parel. He was accompanied by Bollywood star Salman Khan's personal bodyguard Shera. His backstage crew, along with his security team, is already stationed in the hotel.

Hospitality for Bieber

Justin Bieber will be served rich authentic cuisine representing the 29 Indian states. A convoy of 10 luxury sedans and two Volvo buses will be at the disposal of the artiste and his entourage of 120 throughout their stay. To top it, a Rolls Royce has been reserved for Bieber. Even the suite of the five-star hotel where Bieber will stay has been modified to include truly Indian elements.

A string of designers have created customised souveneirs for the star, who will be accompanied to India by his mother. Together, they will explore Delhi, Agra and Jaipur after the much-awaited gig.

Tickets

Tickets for the 23-year-old Prince of Pop's performance were priced upwards of Rs 5,000, and access to the most expensive zone was priced at Rs 75,000. A red carpet was laid out for all the celebrities expected to attend the gala night, where at least a crowd of 45,000 is expected.
