Will Kieron Pollard remain a limited-overs specialist? Is time running out for the 27-year-old to earn that elusive Test cap? Several factors, for now, indicate a 'yes' for the above questions.

It's been seven years since he made his debut in one-day internationals. Someone with 88 ODI caps and 40 T20 internationals under his belt and nearly 250 T20s around the world in various leagues, a Test cap should have come by now.

Although Pollard savours his Test dream, the big-hitting West Indian is not losing sleep over it. "Yes, you want to play Test cricket but that is not the main focus right now.

The main focus is to win this 50-over series and then looking forward, whenever that time comes, it is going to come. Every time I get asked that question, to be honest, it is getting a bit monotonous. I can't pick myself," Pollard said yesterday.

So what, in his opinion, has prevented him from playing Tests? "I am not lacking anything. For me it is about playing cricket," was his curt reply.

West Indies' bowling legend Michael Holding recently went on to say that he wouldn't consider Pollard as a cricketer if he doesn't make it to the Test team.

What is his Test dream remains unfulfilled? "How will you feel if something never happens? As I said that is not important. What is important for me is to play what I have in hand. I am not going to fight over something that is not there.

"I am not going to ask any question. I am a professional cricketer, I play cricket. Wherever they see me fit to play, I will play," he said.

Pollard also has easy access to pick brains of some Indian Test greats like Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh in the Mumbai Indians dressing room.

"If I am picking their brains, it is about cricket. Cricket can be Twenty20, 50-overs and Test. It is the same cricket; there's a ball and a bat. It is about cricket and about experience.

I have had the opportunity to be around guys who have played the game and are legends of the game. What I have tried to do is pick their brains about different things and put it in my game. As I said, whichever format I play, whichever format I am selected to, I play," Pollard signed off.
