Argentina struggled to a 1-1 draw with Venezuela here on Tuesday which left the South American giants' 2018 World Cup qualification hopes hanging in the balance.

A second-half own goal from Venezuela defender Rolf Feltscher spared Argentina's blushes after the visitors had taken the lead through Jhon Murillo. The result left Argentina in fifth place in the South American standings with 24 points from 16 games.

Sanchez tired of criticism
Alexis Sanchez is growing tired of what he views as constant criticism after Chile suffered a 0-1 defeat by Bolivia that threatens their participation in next year's World Cup.

Chile sit sixth in South American qualifying for the tournament in Russia with two rounds left and only the top four qualifying automatically. "You get tired for being criticised with or without reason, you get tired of wanting to be defeated, you get tired of saying to yourself 'once more I'll get up' after crying after a defeat, and you get tired of telling the world and people who are with you, that everything is going well," Sanchez wrote on his Instagram account.

Spain win 8-0
In another match, Alvaro Morata and Iago Aspas struck twice as Spain dished out another 8-0 thrashing to Liechtenstein to edge ever closer to booking their place at the World Cup.
