MMRC launches website of Metro-III

The website of Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ Metro-3 corridor was launched on Tuesday by MMRC, which also started with its Twitter handle @MumbaiMetro3 and facebook page /mmrcmumbai

MMRC launches website of Metro-III

The website of Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ Metro-3 corridor was launched on Tuesday by Ashwini Bhide, Managing Director, Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC).


Elaborating on the initiative, Bhide said, "The website is a part of MMRC’s ongoing effort to connect with people of Mumbai through various communication channels and disseminate complete and authentic information about the project”. She further said, "This website will also give an idea as to how Metro-3 is a massive effort to change commuting pattern in Mumbai and how it will bring about environmental, social and economic benefits to the city. The intent is to communicate and interact with those who will enjoy the travelling comfort in the near future and attempt to better the quality of ultimate services”.


MMRC has also started with its Twitter handle @MumbaiMetro3 and facebook page /mmrcmumbai, she further added.


The Metro-3 website is thoughtfully coloured to indicate the green initiatives of MMRC and the concept of zero pollution 'Green travel' that Metro-3 is promoting.

The website is easily navigable and is full of project related information. It provides details of Metro-3 route and Stations, Technologies being used to accomplish various tasks in construction, project consultants, project status, timeline and funding, traffic diversion plans during construction, rehabilitation and resettlement efforts and envisaged benefits of Metro-3. Reports on all public consultations would also be made available on this website.

The green policy of MMRC as well as vision, mission and value statements were also released on the occasion.

The website will also provide links to many other useful and relevant external websites like Government of Maharashtra, National Portal of India, Ministry of Urban Development, Indian Railways, MMRDA and other Metro corridors in the country such as Delhi Metro, Jaipur Metro, Kochi Metro, Hyderabad Metro, Chennai Metro and Nagpur Metro.

Present for the website launch were S. K. Gupta, Director (Projects), A. A. Bhatt, Director, (Systems), R.K. Sharma, Executive Director (Electrical), R. Ramana, Executive Director (Planning), Kaustubh Dhavse, OSD for the Chief Minister's office as well as CM War room team looking after Metro 3 and senior officials of MMRC
