Rahul Jaiswal is realising his dreams one bodybuilding championship at a time. Nearly two months after the 24-year-old iron-pumping cook bagged a silver medal at the prestigious 65th National Fitness and Bodybuilding Championship 2017 in Bengaluru, he is now set to showcase his talent on an international platform.

In May, mid-day had reported how Jaiswal, who works at KJ Somaiya College's canteen, had first started training to become a bodybuilder at the age of 13. He is now one step closer to fulfilling his dream.

Last month, the Indian Body Building Federation (IBBF) selected Jaiswal to participate at the 9th World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship 2017 in the 'fitness model' category. The IBBF is recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The championship is scheduled for the first week of October and will be held at Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

For now, Jaiswal is training for the big day, while juggling his canteen job. "I am doing what I never imagined was possible," he says. Jaiswal has been following a strict diet and is also training with his instructor Praful Jadhav.
