Mumbai crime: 65-year-old senior citizen found dead in Kandivali flat

A 65-year-old senior citizen was found dead in his flat at Kandivali. Police sources say he was attacked and hit on the back of his head by a blunt instrument

A 65-year-old senior citizen was found dead in his flat located at Pratik buliding on Maturadaas Road, Kandivli West.


According to the sources from Kandivli police station, the deceased, who was a retired man was currently working as share broker. He lived alone in his flat and his children stay in Mira Road. Cops said that the deceased, identified as Devendra was hit by a blunt object at his head due to which his eyes came out and there was also a cut mark on his neck.


Police said that the incident might have occurred on Sunday, while cops came to know about it only today, when some of his neighbours raised an alarm. Following this a police team rushed to the spot and recovered his body at around 9.30 pm

"The CCTV installed inside the building premises has been taken into custody for investigations. Several people have been detained for questioning," said a police officer from Kandivli police station.

The Kandivli police as well as Mumbai Crime Branch unit-11 is looking into the matter. The motive behind the killing is unclear as of now. Body has been sent to Bhagwati Hospital for post mortem. Meanwhile the cops have registered case of murder.
