The neighbour of a 27-year-old woman allegedly gangraped her along with two other men believed to be his friends at her residence in Reay Road. Police have registered a case in the matter.


The incident occurred last week when the woman, who was waiting for her husband, who had to stay late for work, to return home dozed off while leaving the door wide open.

According to Hindustan Times, Byculla Police sources say the accused entered the house and first physically assaulted the woman, before taking turns raping her. After their departure, the woman's husband, who was away for work at Nal Bazaar returned him to find her in a disheveled condition with her clothes torn and weeping.

She then narrated her ordeal to him after which he went to the neighbour's residence but didn't find him there.

A case was then registered with the police under the IPC sections for gangrape and house trespass.
