New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished for the "good health" and "well-being" of people of the country as the nine-day festival of Navratri began Thursday.
"As the auspicious festival of Navratri begins, I convey my warm greetings to everyone. We bow to Maa Jagdamba and seek her blessings," Modi tweeted.
"May Maa Jagdamba enrich our lives with strength, well-being, good health and may she keep inspiring us to serve the poorest of the poor," said another tweet.
The Navratri festival, a Hindu festival during which many Indians fast for nine days, will end with Dussehra Oct 3.
